Establishing a plan for prenatal care can significantly improve the quality of the pregnancy and the outcome for mom and baby. Our office has a regular schedule for prenatal visits for healthy women:
- Every 4 weeks From the first visit to 28 weeks
- Every 2-3 weeks From 28 to 36 weeks
- Weekly From 36 weeks to delivery
Prenatal Visits
If you develop a problem during your pregnancy, or you have had a significant medical problem prior to pregnancy, you may see a doctor more often. At each visit, we take a urine sample, check weight and blood pressure and examine the patient to make sure the pregnancy is progressing normally. Periodically, we will also take blood tests and other specialized exams to monitor the patient’s health. Our providers are ready and available to answer any questions that may arise throughout the pregnancy.
Group Practice
Since we are a group practice, any of the Central Phoenix Obstetrics and Gynecology physicians may be present for your delivery (depending on night or weekend call rotations). During the course of your prenatal care, we will create opportunities for you to meet the providers in the prenatal care and delivery team.
