Heart Disease–a women’s issue

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for all Americans. Nearly twice as many women in the United States die of heart attack, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases than die from all forms of cancer, including breast cancer. Most women are well aware of the effect cancer can have in their lives  however we often overlook the role of heart disease.  While heart disease is as common in women as in men, the signs of heart attack and stroke can be different and treatments that work for men may not be as effective in women.  Learning more about this disease could save your life.

Central Phoenix Obstetrics and Gynecology is a proud supporter of the Red Dress Cocktail PartyA heart healthy happy hour focusing on women’s wellness and reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke.
